There are some telltale signs that your axle might need attention.
Listen for noises: More noise when the machine is idling than in motion, or when you turn the steering wheel. This noise can be a rubbing sound or a knocking sound.
Vibration in the steering wheel.
If the axle is constantly engarged or doesn't engage at all.
